Nostalgia was the key word throughout this design process. My design brought bright colors and classic silhouettes to the stage, while also maintaining accuracy of uniform and period. Lola and Mr. Applegate stand out most in their blacks, reds, and hot pinks, while the main and ensemble characters exemplify modesty and 1950's perfection. Balance was critical in incorporating a happy, post-depression world into zany and unique dance numbers such as "two lost souls" which is set in a beatnik bar.
